We never thought this day would come.
Those Victoria’s Secret swimwear catalogues piling up in your mailbox are about to become relics: VS is apparently getting out of the swimsuit business altogether.
The company announced earlier this month that they’ll cut “certain merchandise categories” but wasn’t more specific than that. Now, a new report says the brand’s bathing suits are getting the axe.

An anonymous insider told BuzzFeed News that Victoria’s Secret will be “exiting out of all current inventory by the end of this year.” That means, after this summer, you’re going to need to go elsewhere for $40 bikinisthat give you cleavage like no other.
This isn’t a totally bad thing (even though your S.O. may beg to differ), as now you won’t have to look at women who look nothing like you in a bikini (or anyone you’ve seen IRL, for that matter).

The news comes just months after Women’s Health officially banned the use of the term “bikini body,” since, as our editor-in-chief Amy Keller Laird pointed out, it’s an unintentional insult. “Any body—every body—is a bikini body,” she wrote. “[It’s] got a shaming, negative undertone that’s become more than annoying.”
So, while you don’t have to worry about being visually accosted by a catalogue that’s all about “the bikini body” on your kitchen counter in the future, you’re also back to square one with finding a bathing suit that flatters your curves and doesn’t cost a ton. Anyone have any recommendations?
