9: Toccara Jones
After getting eliminated from the third cycle of “America’s Next Top Model”? Toccara Jones signed a lucrative contract with Wilhelmina Models’ Plus Size Division. Since then she has proven to the world that curves are definitely in. Toccara has modeled for various brands, including Torrid, Target and Ashley Stewart. Her modeling career really took off when she was photographed for the July 2008 “All-Black Issue” of “Vogue Italia.”

8: Sara Ramirez
Sara Ramirez, the actress who played Dr Callie Torres on “Grey’s Anatomy,” would use unconventional methods to lose weight early on in her career. The constant yo-yo dieting wreaked havoc on her body and her self-esteem. It wasn’t until she gained 25 pounds while filming “Grey’s Anatomy,” that she learned to embrace her curves. Instead, of being ridiculed for gaining weight the writers wrote scenes for Sara to dance around in our underwear. She said that baring it all helped her get over her issues and now she’s totally in love with her body.
7: Candice Huffine
Candice Huffine was rejected by a dozen modeling agencies when she was just 16. One agency finally decided to give her a shot as a plus size models. Her rise to the top was full of struggles. Her very first agent even told her she would never be able to make a full time living as a model. Thankfully, that agent was wrong, Candice’s career has flourished. She refuses to lose weight to fit society’s standards and she flaunts size 12 body with pride.

6: Robyn Lawley
Robyn Lawley caused outrage when she appeared at the first plus size models in “Sports Illustrated’s” swimsuit edition. People were upset that the statuesque beauty was considered plus size since she’s only a US size 12. The Australian beauty took it all in stride because she refuses to put so much attention on her figure. She has now made it her mission to help women of all sizes accept their bodies. Her positive attitude and good looks have landed her some major magazine covers, including features in “Vogue Italia” and “Vogue Australia.”
5: Tess Holliday
Tess holiday was teased throughout her childhood for being overweight. After dropping out of high school, she set her sights on becoming a plus size models. Even the plus size industry was difficult for her to break into. Many agents told the 5’5” size-26 model, she was too short and big. But she finally in to deal with milk model management in 2015 making her the largest model signed to a major agency.

When Lane Bryant unveiled their “This Body” ad campaign in “Sports Illustrated” magazine? They chose plus size model Precious Lee as the face of the campaign. Precious appeared in the ad wearing a two-piece bathing suit in all of her curvaceous glory. Her appearance in the magazine was definitely a sign that the publishing industry was beginning to embrace different body types. Precious now feels honored to be able to inspire other women no matter their size.

Tara Lynn appeared on the cover of “French Elle’s” February 2012 issue and the magazine gave her the nickname “The Body.” Although Tara’s curves are celebrated, she still remembers a time when she was bullied in school for her weight. She says that when she was 16, she felt that her weight held her back, but it has actually done the opposite. Tara is now one of the most popular plus size models in the world.

Supermodel Denise Bidot has modeled plus size fashions for H&M and Lane Bryant, but Denise is more than just a curvy body and a pretty face. When she isn’t rocking the runaway, she devotes her time to helping other women learn to love their bodies. She appeared in an ad campaign for swimsuits for all. The images were completely unretouched to show her natural beauty. Denise was quoted as saying, “everything that at one point, when I was younger, I thought with imperfection, I realize now it’s what makes me, me”.

Before taking the modeling world by storm, Ashley Graham was always told that she wasn’t cover model material.
